...except through the power and prayer of Bob Dole...

So it's another day, the world turns, the earth is still on it's orbit around the sun. Life is good.

Except for people are trying to tell me that life isn't good. That there is moral backslide in ourĀ  culture.

Old people are funny aren't they.

You know people really don't think when they make these generic cliche statements, case in point myself. Anyways.

But back to the supposedly moral backslide.

I really want to know what time period people think that United States morality was high. Was it in the 50's or the 40's where women couldn't really voice their opinions and they could only hold sexist jobs? Or was it earlier than that where lynchings and killing gay's was a normal spectacle? Or are they talking about our fore-fathers where they considered Africans and Native Americans savages?

I mean yea you could argue that kids play violent video games today and watch scores of blood on television and curse. True. But look at where we are now? The violence is through media. We are not prehistoric. We do not train our kids to kill and we are no longer warring with other villages. Kids don't have to fight and kill for their food for their survical, though I believe that should be a new tv show for fat kids. There I said it.

Also I am pretty sure this is a very open minded generation. I mean hate crimes and gang crimes are not like they used to be in the 90's. We don't have many news reports of police crashing gay clubs and bashing people's brains in.

Hell, if the high life of morality was accredited in the years of fascism then I will gladly burn alive today as an immoral tool.

Morality is a subjective issue its easy to look back with clouded sight and think the past was perfect. The vices that exist today have existed since the birth of our civilization, just because a society manages to repress them for any given length of time does not make of a higher moral fibre than current society no matter how corrupt it may seem.

True. I just get annoyed when people say that previous generations were of higher moral character than the current generation. Thanks for commenting! I was just having fun rattling on and on making preposterous statements because I didn't think anyone would read what I write.
